OPEN LIBRARY / JUMP START
Before School - The library will be open from 8:30 am - 8:55 am on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings for student use. Students who have a homework assignment to finish, want to study for a quiz or test, need a quiet place to read, or want to check out a book; may come to the library before school to do so. A hall pass is NOT needed for students to use the library before school.
After School - The library will be open from 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm on Monday - Friday afternoons for student use. Students who have a homework assignment to finish, want to study for a quiz or test, need a quiet place to read, or want to check out a book; may come to the library after school to do so. A hall pass is NOT needed for students to use the library after school. HOWEVER, students do need to talk with their parent(s) in advance about staying after school & to arrange a ride home from school at 4:00 pm.
Rules & expectations for 'Open Library / Jump Start' :
* Students who wish to participate are expected to have a QUIET assignment / task to work on.
* Group projects are acceptable as long as students are working quietly and remain on-task.
* Before school - once students enter the library, they are required to remain in the library until the warning bell rings at 8:55 am.
* After school - students need to arrive by 3:35 pm and are expected to remain in the library until it is time to leave at 4:00 pm, or their parent(s) come to pick them up.
* Computer use is reserved for homework assignments ONLY, students will not be allowed to play computer games or surf the internet during this time.
* Attending Open Library / Jump Start is not an excuse to wander the school building before or after school. Students need to enter/exit the building and library quickly & quietly.
Students who refuse to cooperate with library staff, disrupt other students, or refuse to follow the expectations will be referred to administration and may loose the privilege of attending 'Open Library / Jump Start' for the remainder of the year.
