Dear student,
Welcome back to school! I hope you had a great spring break. We're into our final trimester and there are lots to do and learn before this school year is out. Here's a gentle reminder about the state standardized test, now called the MSP (Measures of Student Progress), which will take place the first week of May. We are working hard to prepare for this so please make sure you come to class each day ready to learn. Here's what you can do: Pay attention during instruction, stay on task, make clarifications when necessary and practice the skills learned by DOING YOUR HOMEWORK!
If you are having difficulty in Math, please make an appointment to see me before or after school. I am also available during 1st lunch. Many students who come in have benefited immensly from these sessions.
For those of you who have not purchased a ruler and a protractor, please do so as soon as possible. If you or your parents have questions for me, there are a few ways to contact me:
-
E-mail. This is a great way to communicate with me. I try to respond to e-mail messages as soon as possible. Laura.Lim@vansd.org.
-
Send a note. I collect notes at the beginning of each lesson.
-
Call the school. They will put you through to the classroom before or after school. During class time, you will need to leave a message on my voicemail. I check messages several times a day and make return calls within 24 hours whenever possible. The number at Alki Middle School 313-3200.
