Dear student,

Welcome to 8th grade Math! I am thrilled to have you in my class. This is going to be a terrific year and you can look forward to  an engaging, interesting and very fulfilling Math experience. My goal is to help you achieve success in Math, but you need  to come to class prepared and be ready to learn. Look out for more news on class expectations and course outline on the first day of school. If  you or your parents have any questions, here's how to contact me: 

• E-mail. This is a great way to communicate with me. I try to respond to e-mail messages as soon as possible. Laura.Lim@vansd.org.
• Send a note. I collect notes at the beginning of each lesson.
• Call the school. They will put you through to the classroom before or after school. During class time, you will need to leave a message on my voicemail. I check messages several times a day and make return calls within 24 hours whenever possible. The number at Alki Middle School 313-3200.

Supplies needed:

• Pencils with erasers
• Red and blue correcting pens
• Composition book for math notes and vocabulary (no spirals, please)
• 2 inch ring binder with dividers
• lined paper AND graph paper

Please remember your note books and math folder. Deadline is Sept 14, 2009
