Spanish Immersion Program
Our all-day Spanish Immersion Program is in its third year at Harney. Thus far, our program includes kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and will role up one grade each school year. Instruction is primarily in Spanish, allowing English-speaking students to become bilingual. Language immersion has proven to be highly effective in helping students achieve fluency in a second language, especially when it begins at an early age. Please contact us if you are interested.

What's Going on at Harney
Welcome to the 2010-11 school year! We look forward to seeing you soon. Our office is now open daily from 8:00 - 4:00 with the exception of Aug. 19 and Labor Day, Sept. 6.
Ice Cream Social Sept. 7, 4:00 - 5:00 PM Come learn who your student's teacher will be and enjoy an ice cream, courtesy of our wonderful PTO. Please enter through the gym in the back where the class lists will be posted. You may start in the classrooms or outside with ice cream. Parking is available in the front or the back of the school.
First Day of School Sept. 8 Doors open at 8:20, school begins at 8:30, school is over at 2:50.
Boo Hoo Breakfast Sept. 8, 8:20 - 9:15 AM Kindergarten parents, come dry your first day tears with other parents who understand :). PTO will serve coffee and treats under the covered area while your kindergartener begins his/her first day of school.

Harney Parent Teacher Organization is a proud supporter of Harney Elementary School. We work with the teachers and students to put on family fun nights and raise money to support programs such as At Home Reading, technology items and other supplies the school needs. We are always looking for new ideas and new people!!
