The English Language Learner (ELL) program is for students whose primary language is other than English. This year there are 76 different languages spoken in the homes of our students. There are currently 1,865 students enrolled in the ELL program.
Students are tested on their proficiency in English to determine eligibility for services in the ELL program. All students whose primary language is other than English are tested.
ELL services are provided at all elementary schools and at Jason Lee Middle School and Fort Vancouver High School. Interpreter and translation services support parent involvement in our schools. Four Family Liaisons are available to assist families with school-related issues.
