Vancouver Public Schools Magnets and CTE Programs of Choice
What program options do students have?
As students come to realize their individual skills, abilities and interests and begin to plan for their future, they have several unique options and opportunities available to them within the Vancouver School District. Each program option allows students to participate in a specialized program of focus, designed to enhance the learning of core curricular areas, challenge students to achieve higher-level thinking and contextual application, and prepare them for success in their future, whether it be post-secondary education or immediate employment in the workforce. Students can choose to participate in the following programs: Full or Half-Day Magnets, Half-Day CTE Programs of Choice, or the Clark County Skills Center Programs.
Full-Day Magnet Programs
Full-Day Magnet Programs offer special opportunities to students that arent readily available in their home school. These programs feature a unique theme as a focus for teaching and learning and are for students that have a strong interest in a concentrated field of study. Magnet programs attract students from all over the district who have a common interest or passion so they get to be involved in a unique community of peers. Students who choose a full-day magnet program will enroll full time in the school which houses the Magnet they choose.
