Hough Elementary School is a thriving school supported by volunteers and connected to the community. A number of programs enrich our students’ lives. Hough is one of three district sites for the popular Transitional-First program that bridges the transition between kindergarten and first grade. On-site childcare and the Kids First after-school program provide safe and structured activities beyond the school day.
The Hough Foundation, established in 1992, supports student needs. The Foundation has supported a full-day kindergarten for the past two years. It also supports two school choirs with a total of 80 students who perform at community events. A full-time volunteer director oversees volunteers and partnerships for programs like Lunch Buddy and the annual Paddy Hough Parade. A resource coordinator helps to meet basic needs of students by putting families in touch with social services.
Hough is truly a community school where parents, teachers, neighbors, business partners, and the Hough Foundation all have a part in the success of students.
Mission Statement: We, the Hough School Community, unite to personalize learning and empower our diverse students to recognize and celebrate success.
