The name says it all at Fruit Valley Community Learning Center, where the school is truly at the heart of this small neighborhood. The school is a community hub with partnerships that provide on-site childcare for babies through school-age children, Head Start, a Family Resource Center, and a Kids First after-school program. Adult lunch buddies are paired with students and meet weekly at school for lunch and conversation. The school has long-time ties with community patrons who have given generously to the students of our school.
The Family Resource Center supports families through early education activities, access to computers and the Internet, and connections to social services. We open our doors to families and encourage their participation. At Fruit Valley we believe children learn better when parents are involved. We have more than 200 registered volunteers. In a survey, families said they felt welcome at Fruit Valley 100 percent of the time.
