What’s next
Goal Area Teams: The next step in the strategic planning process is to formulate a specific plan with vision and goal statements, target objectives, and metrics (how progress will be measured). Goal Area Teams will meet in September and October to review the data and information collected through the stakeholder engagement process as well as best practice research. The teams will assist in developing the elements of a strategic plan that are most likely to leverage transformative change in Vancouver Public Schools.
Stakeholder Review: Following the work of the Goal Area Teams, a draft of the strategic plan will be presented to district staff and community members for their review and comments. The Goal Area Teams then will be reconvened to examine this feedback and to consider any modifications to the draft plan that may be appropriate.

| Board Adoption: In December or January, the Futures Team will present a recommendation to the superintendent and board of directors to adopt the new strategic plan. The board will adopt the plan or request changes to the plan prior to its adoption.
Together, we will create a plan to take Vancouver Public Schools from first class to world class.
