Discovery Middle School provides many opportunities for our students to discover all they can be. Academics, athletics, and the arts—we have it all. We also offer additional programs and activities for our diverse and active students.

Discovery achieved status as an Official International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) School in Sept. 2010. This program is a stepping stone to the International Baccalaureate program at Columbia River High School. Discovery also is one of three middle schools with the Challenge/Honors program for highly capable students. The AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program gives 7th- and 8th-grade students strategies to help them be successful in school and pursue college studies after graduation.

Students learn interpersonal skills through a strong peer mediation program. Our physical education program stresses fitness over athletic ability. We integrate physical conditioning with multicultural arts activities so all students can be successful. Homework Club is available before school for students who want extra help. After-school activities offer safe and structured options for students.

Discovery has an active PTA which helps plan and coordinate school events. Families are encouraged to volunteer at school events.
