Culture and community—these qualities describe Hudson’s Bay High School. Our students strive to do their best. Students hold a fundraiser each year for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The Mr. Hudson’s Bay contest has raised more than $700,000 for the hospital, which now has a wing named after the Eagles. The sense of community also was evident when 2,000 Hudson’s Bay alumni and friends celebrated the school's 50th anniversary in 2006.
Bay has a tradition of challenging academics. In addition to Honors, Advanced Placement, and core academic courses, Bay offers the ACES (Architecture, Construction, Environmental Services) Magnet Program, which gives students experience in these fields. Horticulture and science also open up real-life opportunities. Each year horticulture classes grow thousands of plants and vegetables, which are sold in the spring. Bay Engineering Science Team (BEST) takes science on the road to neighboring elementary and middle schools. A full offering of classes in the arts provides room for creative exploration.
Seventy percent of our seniors plan to pursue post-secondary education. Many of our athletes have placed in state competition, earned college scholarships, and even gone on to play sports professionally. At Hudson’s Bay we are proud of our culture and our community!
