Fort Vancouver High School has a lot to offer its diverse and enthusiastic students. Our students and staff represent more than 50 nations. This rich heritage is proudly displayed in our school commons with flags from our students’ homelands.
Courses and opportunities at Fort are as diverse as the interests of our students. Many classes offer hands-on, real world experience. Horticulture, culinary, medical arts, welding, and a legal program draw students who want to pursue specialized areas of interest. Fort also is the site of the district's Spanish/English Dual Language Program at the high school level. The program offers students advanced opportunities in Spanish language and literature, as well as gives students who are native speakers of Spanish and those who have been in the Dual Language Program chances to take other content area classes taught entirely in Spanish.
Fort students have won local, state or national awards in Mock Trial, SkillsUSA and Science Decathlon. Several of our ELL students have received recognition for essay and poetry writing. More than 75 percent of our students plan to pursue post-secondary education. Many are ready to enter careers in food service and welding industries upon graduation. Sports, drama, and other extracurricular activities round out the opportunities at Fort Vancouver High School.
