A new magnet program is opening in the fall in Vancouver Public Schools. Lewis and Clark High School is blazing a trail for motivated, hard-working students who will excel in a non-traditional school setting. This school of choice features learning on one-to-one laptop computers with the support and guidance of caring teachers.
Does your student like to work independently at his/her own pace? Would your student prefer a small school setting? Many students work better when they can set their own schedule for learning—choosing which subjects to tackle in the morning and which to complete in the afternoon. This blended learning school of choice makes it possible.
School hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each student will be assigned a laptop and will complete coursework on a flexible day-to-day schedule. Students work independently, but receive full guidance from highly qualified, dedicated educators. Students will meet with teachers individually and in small groups for instruction, enrichment, and extra help. AVID and AP courses offer a pathway to college.
The new magnet program isn’t for everyone. But if your student is responsible and dedicated to charting his/her own path for success, then the new Lewis and Clark High School may be a perfect fit.
