Vancouver Public Schools will be offering graduate level sessions for teachers interested in increasing their skills and strategies for analytical reading, writing, and thinking. Sessions are divided between AP™ and Pre-AP™ sessions as listed below.
Tuitions and Fees AP™ and Pre-AP™ Sessions:
$700 (after June 30, 2014, a $50 late charge applies). Additional $25 lab fee for AP™ Chemistry, AP™ Environmental Science, and AP™ Physics. Fees include registration, teacher materials, breakfast, lunch, and optional evening excursion to Portland's Pearl District and Powell's Books.
Credit and Clock Hours You may choose to earn either two (semester) graduate-level professional development credits from San Diego State University or 30 clock hours. Clock hour paperwork will be available at the Institute.
SDSU Credit Information - coming soon
SDSU Registration Additional details are available from San Diego State's registration office, (619) 594-5152. The registration deadline is August 15, 2014.
In addition to attendance and participation in the entire course, each participant desiring credit from SDSU will submit a three to five-page paper (double-spaced, 650-word minimum) synthesizing the various experiences that took place during this course. The paper should describe the best concepts or practices learned and how they will integrate or apply them in their work. Details on paper deadline, submission, and transcripts will be available at the Institute or by calling the SDSU number above.
AP™ Fellows Scholarships are awarded to AP™ teachers at schools which serve a majority of under-represented students of color or low-income students. Each recipient will be offered $1,000 to attend a College Board™-endorsed AP™ Summer Institute. Visit AP Fellows Program for more information. The application deadline is February 15, 2014.
