The Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS) supports low- and middle-income students pursuing eligible, high-demand majors in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and health care, and encourages recipients to work in Washington state once they complete their degrees.

The Siemens Foundation established the Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology in 1999. The Competition is the nation’s premiere science research competition for high school students and seeks to promote excellence by encouraging students to undertake individual or team research projects. It fosters intensive research that improves students' understanding of the value of scientific study and informs their consideration of future careers in these disciplines.

10/1- FAFSA filing opens for class of 2017!!!!

10/5- Hudson's Bay Curriculum Night/ GEAR UP Parent Orientation

10/6- FAFSA/WASFA info night at Hudson's Bay 5:30-7:00p

10/19-21 Parent Teacher Conferences

10/22- ACT test date (Sept. 19th registration deadline)

10/24- National College Fair Field Trip 9a-12pm

10/25- Future U Fair at Hudson's Bay 5p-8pm

 **All Vancouver Public Schools’ students are welcome to this free event to help plan for after graduation!

Make a plan: visit with representatives from public and private colleges, training programs, trade schools, job opportunities, local unions and military.

Get advice: Attend an information session every 30 minutes, starting at 6 p.m. Topics include applying for scholarships and help with financial aid, including FASFA.**
