School counselors recognize and respond to the need for mental health and behavioral prevention, early intervention and crisis services that promote psychosocial wellness and development for all students.

Students’ unmet mental health needs pose barriers to learning and development. Although school counselors do not provide long-term mental health therapy in schools, they do collaborate with other educational professionals and community service providers.

Our community offers a variety of resources that help students and their families fulfill specific needs that the school may or may not be able to provide.
