Thomas Jefferson Middle School seeks to create a learning environment that is personal, spontaneous, and responsive to the diverse needs of all students. Our goal is a transformation from the traditional one-size-fits-all model of teaching to a system that addresses the needs of the whole child and achieves success one student at a time. Teachers at TJMS commit themselves to work collaboratively to develop and deliver intentional instruction that is purposeful and relevant, with the intent clear to the learner. As facilitators of learning, teachers infuse technology into the curriculum, providing students with authentic opportunities to demonstrate learning and the means to create the evidence of progress toward the attainment of state and district standards. At TJMS, the computer and other technology resources enable our students to access the information they need, communicate with the teacher as they receive and submit work, view evaluative data about assignments and progress, produce quality work, and showcase evidence of learning.
