Teen employees might be eligible to earn school credit

Students age 16 and older who have a part-time paid job might qualify to earn elective school credit for the skills they are learning at work.  To find out more, students should talk to their counselor or their school's work-based learning coordinator about enrolling in a Career and Technical Education class called "Cooperative Work Experience."  180 hours of documented work experience earns 0.5 elective credit. A maximum of 2 credits can be earned each year.
