Washington HOBY Program for Sophomores
Washington HOBY puts on a four day leadership conference for high school sophomores that is packed with fun and innovative leadership activities. The purpose of the seminar is to prepareour country's high school sophomores to become effective, innovative, and ethical leaders in their home, schools, workplace and community. Our seminar has an emphasis on volunteerism, innovative ideas, diversity, community partnerships, and lifelong learning,we want to teach our ambassadors how to think and not what to think. HOBYAmbassadors are selected from each of Washington's public and private high schools so please keep an eye out for any outstanding sophomores you know in your school. LSW Architecture Internship
Design CoMission is a semester-long design internship at LSW Architects in downtown Vancouver. Two afternoons a week for two hours, participating students will meet at the LSW Architects office. Design Co-Mission sessions will provide students opportunities to explore real-world projects as a team, visit sites, collaborate side-by-side with professionals, develop project planning skills, and learn how to design and present your work. Kaiser Permanente Youth Exploration Academy in Healthcare
KP YEAH is an opportunity for students interested in healthcare careers to explore their interests through meeting with doctors, nurses, administrative staffs and the like. There will be an opportunity to experience our simulation lab and simulations in our operating rooms. Part of the day is also focused on professional development through community service, resume building, mock interviews and group presentations. Students participating will receive an $800 stipend for attending the program. Students must be present all days – Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM from July 2nd through July 27th with July 4th off.
