Adventure Psychology Internship

Union Summer: Intern for Social Change
Are you or anyone you know interested in working for social change? Union Summer is a paid ($15/hour) summer internship program for people interested in getting involved in the labor movement.
Kyocera Internship 2018
Students will participate in a 90 hour internship opportunity (approx. 80 hours onsite and 10 hours in the classroom) between June 25 and July 30 2018. Students will meet 1 hour/week at Cascadia Skills Center during internship period and will meet onsite at Kyocera for the remaining hours. Internship hours will be approx. 6 hours/day, 5 days/week, for 4 weeks. Students will start at 9:00 AM and end at 4 PM (with a 30 minute lunch break). Program open to youth ages 15.5-21 years old. Great program for anyone who may be looking at a career in law enforcement or corrections. Youth will learn leadership skills, teamwork, physical agility and structure. Kaiser Permanente Youth Exploration Academy in Healthcare
KP YEAH is an opportunity for students interested in healthcare careers to explore their interests through meeting with doctors, nurses, administrative staffs and the like. There will be an opportunity to experience our simulation lab and simulations in our operating rooms. Part of the day is also focused on professional development through community service, resume building, mock interviews and group presentations. Students participating will receive an $800 stipend for attending the program. Students must be present all days – Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM from July 2nd through July 27th with July 4th off.

ASE Symposium - University of Portland
August 17, 2018 8:30am - 6:00pm. The Apprenticeships in Science and Engineering (ASE) Symposium is the culminating learning event of the summer and enables the students to organize and synthesize their internship experiences. ASE interns present their work through poster sessions and 15-minute oral presentations. This enrichment activity is designed to broaden technical exposure and improve their speaking and presentation skills. Participants review and ask questions of peers’ projects and conclusions. Symposium is designed to broaden students’ technical expertise and strengthen their formal public speaking skills. It is also a critical learning event that enables interns to organize and synthesize what they’ve learned in the course of the internship.
