OPTIONAL FIELD TRIP TO CASCADIA TECH ACADEMY (formerly Skills Center): On Thursday, February 16th, students in grades 10 & 11 may ride a VSD bus to the Cascadia Tech Academy.  Students will be able to visit 3 career-training programs of their choice. This visit is intended to help students decide if they want to apply to be in one of the Cascadia's 17 career-training programs for the 2017-2018 school year. Cascadia Technical Academy (Clark County Skills Center)
Students in grades 11 and 12 who meet admissions requirements may apply to attend this national-award-winning technical high school for a half-day program. No tuition. Free transportation to most programs. Students earn high school and college credits. As of August 14th there were several openings in the following programs: Session 1 Session 2 AMS Yes Construction Yes Yes Fashion Yes Yes Homeland Yes Inform Tech Yes Yes Pre-Engineer Yes Yes Rest Mgmt Yes Yes If your student is interested in attending the Skills Center this year have them see their counselor.

Programs: Applied Medical Sciences; Automotive Technology; Aviation Technology; Construction Technology; Cosmetology; Criminal Justice; Dental Assisting; Diesel Technology; Information Technology Systems, Service & Support (formerly EDT); Fashion Merchandising & Retail Management; Financial Customer Services; Fire Science (students are cadet trainees at a local fire station); Homeland Security; Legal/Medical Office Applications; Pre-Engineering Design Technology; Restaurant Management/Culinary Arts; and Travel & Hotel Management.
